Living Legacy – Phase II. In 2003 a group committee was formed and worked really hard to decide how we as a church could do some meaningful fund raising for our church now and the future. Living Legacy was born with a great possibility to raise as much money as possible to be invested in a fund that would grow indefinitely over time. Some 83 member families of St. Marys United Church rose to the challenge and contributed a lump sum or pledged annually over a period of 6 years. People contribute financially to their church as an act of kindness with desire to share their good fortune. Our ability to create wealth is a gift from God. As good stewards we also use our wealth to advance God’s work through the mission of our church. We are called to give generously, this is how we show our gratitude to God for the life and love and joy given to us. During our lives we work hard to create wealth. Knowing that one day we will have to give everything away. We must think carefully about our assets, invest them wisely, and pray for guidance about how to give them away. Imagine how good it would feel to give away everything you own– yet still have it all to enjoy. In a sense that’s what you do when you make your will. Your will is a reflection of the beliefs and values you hold most dear. We are never too young or too old to make a choice that could make such meaningful difference to the future of our church. What about a planned gift to your church?

Are you a Webmaster? Then we need your help! Our website needs an overhaul. If you are interested in designing and/or maintaining a website for our church, please speak to Jana in the church office.

Get Connected!!! We have a special address book on our e-mail system called “ChurchLink”. The folks in this book get at least a weekly e-mail message from the church with the weekly scripture texts, hymns and any special announcements included in the Sunday bulletin. This is also used to spread prayer requests and event reminders. If you are interested in being included on our ChurchLink, please send an e-mail to the church office administrator@stmarysunitedchurch.org.
